School Sport
This week we are again focusing on High Jump and Long Jump in preparation for the School Athletics Carnival this Friday, 26th June.
Small Schools Soccer Knockout Competition
The Werris Creek Public School Soccer Team played against Barraba Public School in the Small Schools Soccer Knockout Competition in Barraba on Friday, 12th June. The team travelled by bus to Barraba as it was their home game. The team represented our school with pride, and it was nail bitting to the end. Congratulations to Barraba who won the game 7-3 and are through to the next round of competition. We wish Barraba all the best in the next round of competition.
Small Schools Netball Knockout Competition
The Werris Creek Public School Netball Team played against Willow Tree Public School last Thursday 18th June in Quirindi. It was a tight game with Willow Tree beating Werris Creek 11-7. Congratulations to Willow Tree, we wish you all the best in the next round of competition.
NENW Girls and Boys Soccer Trials
Congratulations to Jackson, Lillian S, Luke, & Piper who all made it through to the NENW Girls and Boys Soccer Trials and will trial for a spot on the New England Northwest Team. Girls Trials will be held on Wednesday, 24th June and Boys Trials on Thursday, 25th June (Week 10) and we wish them all the best in the next round.
School Athletics Carnival
Our School Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday, 26th June at David Taylor Oval, Werris Creek. Students are to make their own way to and from the oval on the day. Bus students will be dropped off and collected from David Taylor Oval and returned home. We invite all Parents/Carers and community to come and support our students as they compete for a spot on the Zone team.
Please ensure if your child is eligible for any of the below competitions or trials their permission notes are signed and returned by the due date to secure their spot. Notes handed in after the due date will not be accepted.
