Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo Excursion

On Tuesday the 3rd of June, a small group of Year 9 and 10 students attended the Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibit is designed to empower female and gender diverse students by showcasing traditionally male-dominated fields and providing opportunity for them to find out how they can pursue rewarding careers in these industries.
Industries that were represented at the expo included building and construction, electrical engineering, plumbing, automotive, marine, aviation, mining, agriculture and horticulture. Our students actively engaged in the many hands-on stalls include brick laying, welding, using power tools and learning to paint, all while developing a stronger understanding of the range of career options available to women and gender diverse people.
We thank these students for a very positive day and hope that they have come away from this experience excited to continue exploring the many career options available to them.
