Wellbeing Team

This year we have Mr Martino back Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday to support our school and students with social and emotional needs. He has moved and is now based in the old Peaceful Pod. The school is growing, so we have had to merge both Wellbeing Hub and Peaceful Pod. It will be open from about 8.30am in the morning for students that may need a quiet space to help with the morning routine and transition.

Anthony and several of our Inclusion Team will be there to support students through the morning. Please reach out to Anthony or Kate if you have any questions or need some support.

We are hoping to set up a second transition space in the coming weeks depending on the need, as we want this space to be calm and inviting. So if we do have a greater need we will let you know where else you can use.

We also welcome Tash Irvine back to DPS. She has been a Seniors teacher prior to her leave and is stepping into our Wellbeing and Mental Health Leader role. Tash will be working Mondays and Wednesdays this year. We will share more about her role in the coming weeks but she will predominantly be working in classes with teachers and students using our Growing Minds program, Social Stencil and Values work to guide personal learning, as well as undertaking some training and supporting staff with how to manage the social and emotional learning of our students.

Kayleen Sumner is also joining our Wellbeing Team, taking on the Inclusion Leader role. We warmly welcome Kayleen to this role. She will be here Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for 2026. While we will share more on her role in the coming weeks, she will predominantly be working with families that have students with complex needs, facilitating many of our SSGs and working with teachers on reasonable adjustments for learning and other needs in classes.

Anthony, Tash, Kayleen and Kate make up the Wellbeing Team for 2026. They will meet regularly to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach across the year. If you have any questions please email the school and one of us will be in touch.
