Meet the Teacher

We are looking forward to this week’s Meet the teacher sessions.

The session will commence in the school hall with a 15 – 20 minute presentation, providing essential information about the upcoming school year. Following the presentation, parents will be invited to visit their child’s classroom, where they can meet the teacher, take a tour of the learning environment, and connect with other parents.

Please note, this event is designed to share general information and build community; it is not intended for one-on-one discussions about individual students. If you wish to discuss your child’s progress or specific concerns, kindly arrange a separate meeting with the teacher.

Wednesday 25 February

Kindergarten:  5:00 – 5:30pm

Year 1 & 2: 5:30 – 6:00pm

Thursday 26 February

Year 3 & 4: 5:00 – 5:30pm

Year 5 & 6: 5:30 – 6:10pm

Support Unit: 5:00pm

Our teachers are looking forward to meeting you and discussing all the exciting things we have lined up for the year.

We kindly request that children do not attend the event, as their presence can create challenges with supervision and our duty of care responsibilities, as well as potentially disrupt the presentations. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Ramadan

As we embrace the diversity within our school community, I would like to recognise the start of Ramadan. This meaningful period is one of reflection, togetherness, and spiritual renewal for our Muslim families and friends. Our school honours and respects this important tradition, and we encourage all students to show understanding and support for their peers observing Ramadan. Next week, we will be holding an Iftar dinner to bring our community together in celebration. See the flyer below and click on this link to RSVP.

Our school’s extra-curricular activities

I am also excited to share with you the wide range of extra-curricular activities our school is offering this year. From sports, music and dance ensembles to coding workshops and environmental groups, there is something to inspire every student’s interests and talents. Our extra-curricular program not only offers a variety of interests and skills development but also includes valuable opportunities tailored for high potential and gifted students to further challenge and extend their learning. Additionally, these activities give students the chance to showcase their talents in local and statewide competitions, fostering confidence, sense of achievement and promoting our school.

Below you will find a schedule of the activities available each week. I have also included important information for parents when considering their child’s participation in the activities.

While we strive to provide timely reminders and support to help students attend their chosen activities, it is essential that students take some personal responsibility for managing their schedules. We also ask parents to support and encourage their children in remembering and committing to their activity times.

Kindergarten Craft afternoon

Last week we held our Kindergarten Craft afternoon, where parents were warmly invited to join their children in a fun, hands-on activity. It was wonderful to see families collaborating and celebrating the creativity of our youngest learners. Events like these strengthen the partnership between home and school and create lasting memories for our community.
