We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Curriculum Day – Friday 6th March

Next Friday 6th March, will be a student free day as our entire staff participates in professional learning focused on strengthening our capacity to embed Inclusive Practices across our school, from Kindergarten to Year 6, including our OSHC team. A key focus of the day will be an education session on Interoception, delivered by OT Dynamic, as well as a session exploring the Department’s Positive Classroom Management strategies. We thank our School Council for their ongoing support in endorsing our Curriculum Days, enabling us to prioritise this important professional learning.

Parking at School and Child Safety

Miners Rest K-6 ask all of our families to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all of our children in relation to road safety. Please ensure that you are parking legally on the roads surrounding our school and dropping off/collecting your child/ren safely. Please do not compromise the safety of your own, or other people's children for the sake of saving 5 minutes. We thank you for your cooperation in abiding by the traffic laws that support the safety of our school community.

Bulldog Read Program

On Monday 23rd February, the Bulldog Read Program had its official launch at the Ballarat Library. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to further develop their literacy skills, engage in book reviews, and connect with the Ballarat Library alongside players from the AFL and AFLW Western Bulldogs teams. We are incredibly proud of the students involved and look forward to seeing their continued growth and enthusiasm throughout the program. Thank you to Jessica McKee and all participating students for their engagement and excitement in embracing this wonderful opportunity.

Assembly

We look forward to welcoming our school community on Friday 27th February at 2:30 pm for our School Assembly.

Enjoy the rest of the week!
