Talented Artists

A few weeks ago Glenn Lewis from the our amazing maintenance team, approached the Art department to see if there was any student who might be interested in painting some memorial stones to commemorate the sad loss of two of his family's precious pets over the years. Milara Howe from Mr Beddoe's Year 10 Art Foundation class jumped at the opportunity and has done an amazing job of capturing the essence of Glenn's special companions.

These beautifully painted, highly detailed and sensitive portraits have been immortalised on stone and were presented to Glenn recently. I'm sure we can all agree on it being a beautiful, thoughtful gift and generous use of talent from Milara Howe.

Shooting hoops all around!

It was a big weekend, with seven teams competing in the Southern High School Basketball Championships at Kingborough Sports Centre, Clarence Sports Stadium and Swisherr. To have three out of four teams qualify for the State Championships is a fantastic achievement. Well done to all teams!

Year 7 Orientation Day

Today we welcomed some of our incoming Year 7 students for next year, for their Year 7 Orientation Day. Joining their peers for plenty of games, bonding activities, a school tour and even a dance lesson.

Students finished off the day with the famous Eddie Rice Cup, a series of challenges where students compete for their House after enjoying a delicious sausage sizzle lunch.

We can't wait to welcome them all back to MacKillop for 2025!
