Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Trust you have had a good fortnight.  

Crazy Sock Day was a lot of fun and I thank families for their support of Indigenous Literacy through this. Last Friday we celebrated Grandparents Day and our Feast Day for St Anne and St Joachim, the Patron Saints of our two parish schools and the grandparents of Jesus. I wish to thank all involved in making it such a special occasion. We had a beautiful Mass which had been very well prepared, time in the classrooms and a celebratory morning tea. Thanks so much to the parents who cooked the scones , prepared the morning tea and hosted the event with support of our Year 6 students as part of their leadership role. 

Our school football team represented the Seaford Zone at the Northern Peninsula AFL competition where they faced some very strong opposition with team's consisting entirely of Year 6 students. They played some good football again under the coaching of Ben Cadd. 

Parent - Teacher interviews w held last night and again tonight. Thank you parents for your attendance and staff for your preparation. 

This Saturday 1st August is our our Trivia Night Fundraiser. I am looking forward to a fun and entertaining night with our parent community. I am very grateful, on behalf of our students, for all the work done in preparation for the evening. 

This Friday our Foundation students will enjoy their school excursion to Myuna Farm as part of their studies. Next Tuesday 4th August we will be having our annual whole school photo at approximately 10.30am. Next Friday we celebrate 100 Days of Foundation for our wonderful 2026 cohort and also celebrate 100 days as a teacher for Miss Michaela Torpey who is in her graduate year.

School Attendance and Unexplained Absence

Please contact the school if your child is going to be absent by leaving a message on  

9786 4736 and press 1. Please give details of your child’s name and class with areason for their absence such as: unwell, appointment, holiday or family reasons. Alternatively an email can be sent to office@saseaford.catholic.edu.au with cc to the child’s teacher.

If you are running late, (after 9:00 am) please attend the office to sign your child into school.

If you are picking up your child early you will need to collect them and sign them out from the office.

As per our policy this will be our morning routine for absences:

Parents will be contacted as soon as practicable on the morning a student is absent via a text message.

If parent does not contact the school after receiving the text message, the school will contact the parent by phone. If the parent is unreachable the emergency contacts will be contacted by the school.

If there is still no response, and the school feels that the child is in danger, the police will be contacted.

Ongoing unexplained absences or lack of cooperation regarding student attendance will result in a formal conference being organized. Unresolved attendance issues will be referred to D.H.H.S.

This is a legal requirement.
