St Simon's School Production

When I Grow Up - A Production to Remember!

As we return to school for the final Term, our school community has come together to celebrate our students' wonderful talents, creativity, and teamwork through our musical production, When I Grow Up.

What a fantastic achievement! The production showcased our students’ enthusiasm, confidence, and willingness to challenge themselves as they brought the show to life through music, singing, dancing, and acting.

While the performances on stage were certainly a highlight, the true success of When I Grow Up extended far beyond the bright lights, costumes and applause. Throughout the process, our students demonstrated resilience, perseverance and teamwork, supporting one another, learning from mistakes and celebrating each other’s successes. These experiences build confidence, strengthen friendships, and create lasting memories.

A production of this scale is only possible through the dedication and collaboration of an incredible team. A heartfelt thank you to our teachers and support staff for their encouragement, extra rehearsals and commitment to helping our students shine. We are also grateful to our production team and backstage crew for their creativity and countless behind-the-scenes efforts, our office staff for managing ticketing and administration, and our leadership team for their ongoing support.

To our parents, families and friends, thank you for your enthusiasm and support throughout the production. From practising lines and songs at home to assisting with costumes and bringing students to rehearsals, your contribution has been invaluable. Most importantly, thank you for filling the audience with encouragement and celebrating our students’ achievements over the past two nights.

Our greatest pride comes not only from what our students achieved on stage, but from how they grew along the way. They embraced challenges, worked together, and discovered what a community can achieve when it comes together with a shared purpose.

When I Grow Up has been a wonderful reminder that growing up is not just about what we hope to become, but also about the people we become along the way.

A very special thank you to our wonderful Music Teacher and Production Director, Laura Nackashian, who has driven this year’s production of When I Grow Up.

Laura, your vision, passion, and extraordinary dedication have brought together more than 340 students to create something truly special. Coordinating, inspiring, and leading a production of this scale is an incredible achievement and a testament to your talent, creativity, and commitment to our students.

We are deeply grateful for the countless hours you have devoted beyond the school day, the energy you have poured into rehearsals and the care you have shown in helping our students discover and share their talents. Your work has given our students opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills and create memories they will treasure for years to come.

Laura, thank you for sharing your remarkable gifts with our school community. Your passion for music and the performing arts has made When I Grow Up an unforgettable experience, and we are incredibly fortunate to have you as part of our St Simon’s family.

Thank you, Laura, for making the extraordinary possible!

Congratulations to every student involved, and thank you to everyone who helped make this production such a memorable experience. Our students should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. We certainly are!
