We Make a Difference
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
Have you ever thought about how small things can make a big difference?
A smile to someone who looks lonely, helping a friend with their work, including someone in a game, or saying kind words can completely change a person's day. Sometimes we think we need to do something big to make a difference, but Jesus teaches us that even small acts of love are important.
God has made each one of us unique. He has given us gifts, talents and opportunities to care for others. When we show kindness, compassion and respect, we shine God's light into the world.
In our school community, we can make a difference every day. We can choose to be helpers, encouragers and peacemakers. When we do this, we show others the love of Jesus.
The children in Reception Fisher have been thinking about how they can make a difference in our school community each day. It might be picking up someone else's rubbish, pushing in a chair, giving someone a smile, or offering a high five. No act is too small to make a difference in someone else's life.
Today, remember that no act of kindness is too small. God can use each of us to make a difference wherever we are. Today and tomorrow, look for someone who needs encouragement and do one small thing to brighten their day.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving us and helping us to grow. Help us to shine Your light through our words and actions today. Show us ways we can help others, be kind, and make a positive difference in our school and community. May everything we do bring glory to You.
Amen.
