Attendance Matters

IMPORTANT - Late Arrival Codes
When students are signed in late via the front office, parents use the Compass Kiosk and select the reason for the late arrival.
The codes most commonly used for a late arrival may be:
- Parent choice, school unapproved - Running late, heavy traffic, etc.
- Healthcare appointment, off-site - Medical, dental or other appointment
Note: A code called ‘Sorry Business’ is available; it relates to cultural obligations within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This code is not used when students arrive late to school.
We encourage all students to be at school by 8:50am to ensure they can begin their day with the class at 9:00am.
If you are unsure which code to use when your child arrives late to school, please do not hesitate to ask a member of our administrative staff.
Important reminder - Early collection of students
Families are reminded of the importance of adhering to the early collection procedure for students.
This procedure is designed to support the best interests of both teachers and students, ensuring optimal teaching and learning conditions for all.
Our preferred early collection times are:
Break #1
10:35am or 11:10am
OR
Break #2
12:45pm or 1:50pm
Early collection at the beginning or end of break times has proven to be less disruptive to classroom routines and assists administration staff in locating students quickly and efficiently for families.
Please note: Administration staff are unable to sign students out during a school assembly. Parents/guardians will be asked to wait until the assembly has finished if early collection is required during this time.
Parents/guardians are reminded that a valid form of photo ID (driver’s licence or passport) is required upon collection.
We thank our families for their consideration and support in adhering to this process.
