Interschool Sports

This Friday our Year 6s will host St Joseph’s PS in the first of our Summer Interschool Sports games.  We play a number of friendlies before we play in the Lightning Premierships later in the term.   Here is our fixture: 

14th Feb host Aspendale PS

21st Feb at Chelsea Heights PS

28th Feb  Swimming Carnival at Pines Forest Aquatic Centre

7th March host Aspendale Gardens PS

14th March host St. Joseph’s 

21st March Lightning Premiership.  Venues to be announced.

TEAM VIC

The School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic representative program provides an opportunity for Victoria’s elite students to challenge themselves against Australia’s best school aged athletes across numerous sports at the annual School Sport Australia (SSA) Championships.  SSV runs the selection process for Team Vic teams in partnership with relevant state sporting organisations.  If you believe your child is one of the best in the state in their chosen sport, you may wish to consider this. 

Please do not apply if your child is one of the better players in their chosen team.  Not only do they need to be the best player on their team.  They need to be the best player in their rep team.  For example, if your child is playing rep basketball, they would need to be the best player on their team in the A grade.  I’ve seen students apply for Team Vic when they are not even the best player in their class!  Please do not do this.  

Schools can only send a maximum of three students per sport.  It is up to parents to register online but then they require approval from the school.  Please contact me prior to applying if you have any questions.

HOCKEY CLINICS

Our Year 4s and 5s will participate in hockey clinics ran by our local hockey clubs.  If your child comes home buzzing about having lots of fun at hockey today, here is a link to their local clubs.

Every Thursday morning at Toby Haenen's Swim Centre, Chelsea Heights  from 7.oo am 

MARTIAL ARTS

Finally,  All Stars Defence will be running clinics for our Year 1s next Tuesday (10th Feb) lunchtime and our Year 2s the following Tuesday (17th Feb).  There classes run every Thursday morning before school.
