Save the Date – Kingfisher Fair & Open Day!

We are excited to announce that this year’s Kingfisher Fair will be held on Sunday 13 September from 11.00am to 3.00pm and for the first time, we are combining it with an Open Day!

Hello families.

You may be aware that we have begun planning our reimagined Kingfisher Fair.  It is a great event for our community, however, feedback over the last couple of Fairs has revealed that you wanted change, and the P&F has delivered it.  Traditionally, year groups were responsible for identifying and managing a stall, including donating goods to that stall. We were told that was an issue, so that has been removed.  We have undertaken a significant review of the Fair to rely more heavily on external vendors for both food and amusements, whilst still keeping the traditional feel of the day.

There are still many of the traditional stalls that are being managed centrally and funded by the P&F.  We are also incorporating a new event, the school’s Open Day, which will see many demonstrations from the students and staff.  In the spirit of our great community, we ask for two things:

Firstly, that you please find the time to donate an hour of your time on the day to make the Fair a success by helping out. Volunteer sign-up sheets will be published in next week's Anchor.

Secondly, that you attend our Fair & Open Day, bringing your family and friends, as this is now truly a celebration of our school and community open to the whole community.

More information to come via the The Anchor and your year group representatives.

Thanks, in anticipation of your help and we look forward to celebrating our school with you on Sunday 13 September.

Second Pre-Kindergarten Class Added for 2027

Following an overwhelming response to our 2027 Pre-Kindergarten intake, we are delighted to announce that a second Djinda Pre-Kindy class has been added.

At Djinda Pre-Kindy, children are safe, known and cared for as they begin their learning journey through play, discovery and connection with the natural environment. Together, we nurture curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning, providing a strong foundation for future success.

We are pleased to offer more families the opportunity to become part of the Great Southern Grammar community as their child embarks on this exciting stage of learning.

Applications for the additional class remain open; however, places are limited.

If you know a family considering Pre-Kindergarten in 2027, please feel free to share this opportunity with them.

Applications close Friday 31 July.
