Dear Parents and Carers,

Greetings and welcome to this week’s news. We hope it finds you all well.

REMINDER: There is one last Pupil Free Day for this term next Monday 22nd June.

Staff Professional Learning Day – Protective Intervention Training

Next Monday 22nd June staff will be undertaking professional learning in Protective Intervention Training, and this continues our commitment to child safety and safeguarding at St. Peter’s.

What is Protective Intervention Training:

  • Core training for staff on dealing with critical incidents and high-level behaviours of concern if/when they happen.

Benefits of Protective Intervention Training:

  • Clarity for staff on ‘what to do’ during challenging situations
    • Clarity on policy and duty of care requirements
    • Actions to take in order to better de- escalate/ manage a situation
  • Knowledge, skills and tools to:
    • Better understand how to keep themselves and/or others safe during a critical incident
    • Better minimise psychological impacts such as fear, anxiety and lack of/loss of confidence.
  • The opportunity for staff to both voice and workshop their relevant questions, concerns and scenarios.
  • Improved confidence for staff leading to less burnout and a higher rate of staff retention.

The second and final stage of the building project will begin in Week 9 and hopefully be finished in Term 4 ready for our Year 3 and 4 classes to move into the main building. Exciting times!

Mid-Year Reports

Currently teachers are working hard to moderate their children’s work to ensure that their reports are accurate and up to date with where their learning is positioned. I commend them for the energy, thoroughness, sincerity and professionalism that they bring to their report writing. As communicated to families last week St. Peter’s Primary School continues its firm commitment to working in partnership with parents to enable our children to achieve their best.  In 2026 St. Peter’s will use the (PAM) Parent Access Module for delivering school reports. This online system provides parents with access to a range of information specific to their child including Mid and End of Year Reports.

We are aiming to have the mid-year reports available on PAM by Friday 26th June.

End of Term Arrangements

Please note that school finishes for the term on Friday 26th June at 2:15pm. School resumes for Term 3 on Monday 13th July at 8:55am

Thank you for your continued support. Have a great week!

Warm regards,
