Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope everybody had a relaxing and enjoyable break with their families. It is an extremely busy term ahead with our School Concert, Book Week, Write A Book In A Day and the P-2 swimming program. A busy, but exciting term to look forward to. Please be sure to look at the dates of events on this newsletter and put them in your diaries.

Be your hands and feet where we are,
At the beginning of this new term teach us to
Love as you love us,
At the beginning of this new term teach us to
Pray and care for those in need

Swimming P-2 Program
A reminder to all parents that our P-2 swimming program commences next Thursday. The children will go every Thursday from the 20th July to 31st August. Due to the requirements of child safe standards, parents volunteering to help with changing at the end of the sessions will be required to produce a Working With Children Check at the school office. This will be copied and kept on file.
Bravehearts
On Wednesday 5th August, students in Prep to Year 2 will participate in the Bravehearts Ditto's Keep Safe Adventure Program. This age appropriate program teaches children important personal safety skills, including how to recognise unsafe situations, identify trusted adults, and understand that they have the right to feel safe. The program is delivered in a positive, engaging and child friendly way, helping children build confidence and know what to do if they ever feel unsafe.
Welcome Back Meg
This term we welcome Meg Knight back to school after her family leave. Meg will be working in Year 4 team. It will be wonderful to have Meg with us again.
Sincere Condolences
Over the holiday break our community was saddened to hear of the passing of Sandra Walker and Catherine O'Flynn.
Sandra was a valued and respected past parent at St Mary's who was very involved in the school lives of her four beautiful girls, Kate, Sophie, Danielle and Brooke. We send our deepest condolences to Wayne and girls during this extremely difficult time.
We also send our love and condolences to Jayne Brumby, our past teacher and now principal at St. Malachy's in Edenhope, Eli and their family on the death of their beloved mum and grandma, Catherine.
