Hello everyone,

What a fantastic start to the term it has been! I’ve been really impressed with the way students have shown teamwork and positivity throughout our sessions. With the beautiful weather, we were able to hold most of our PE lessons outside and make the most of the sunshine.

Students took part in a range of team-building games that focused on the importance of cooperation, encouragement and kindness. These activities gave students the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to work together while having plenty of fun. We also placed a strong emphasis on listening carefully and following instructions to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing.

Last week Year 3-6 focused on improving their shot put techniques in preparation for the upcoming athletics trials. It was a great opportunity to work together, build confidence, and develop their athletic abilities.

Swimming Trials

We wish our wonderful swimmers all the best tomorrow, Wednesday 18th February at the Bayside District Trials. We have had 18 students sign up, which is a fantastic effort, and we are very proud of everyone who has put their hand up to take part. I will be there to cheer you on, and we can’t wait to see how you go. Best of luck to all our swimmers!

St Brendan’s Athletics Day Year 3 - 6 

This year we will be running a St. Brendan’s Athletics Day on Friday 27th February between 9:00am and 12:50pm. This will be a house event and will allow all of our students to participate in track and field events. It will also allow us the opportunity to select an Athletics Team to represent St Brendan's at the Bayside District Athletics - Track and Field Days. Students will be practising all Athletics events during Physical Education lessons leading up to the day. 

If you are available and would like to help run an event, we would love your support. Please give me a call, email or come and have a chat (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays) and I can allocate you a role.

Please note that students from F-3 will have their own Athletics Day later on in the year with the Parish Schools.

Term 1 Upcoming Events

Hockey Victoria

We are excited to welcome the Hockey Victoria Roadshow to our school this week!

Students are being given the fantastic opportunity to try out the exciting game of hockey! They will

learn the skills of the game through exciting game-based activities suited to every year level and

ability.

Hockey Victoria will be sending their amazing Participation Officers to our school in the coming weeks

to provide an engaging, fun, and safe hockey experience for everyone.

At Hockey Victoria, they pride themselves in providing an enjoyable experience for every student, so keep an eye out and see if you can spot one of their coaches at school soon!

If you enjoy the session during school, you can continue with your hockey experience by joining a local Hookin2Hockey program www.hookin2hockey.com.au. With programs all over the state you can find a local program that will suit your schedule.
