Assistant Principal (9/10) Report
Ms Lyndal Yardas

As we approach the end of Semester 1, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our students and staff during what has been an incredibly busy and productive term.
One of the highlights of the term was our recognition and celebration of National Reconciliation Week, which was expertly led by Mr Joel Broughton. Throughout the week, students and staff were provided with meaningful opportunities to reflect on our shared history, learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and consider how we can all contribute to reconciliation within our school and wider community. The activities and learning experiences created valuable opportunities for discussion, understanding, and respect. We thank Mr Broughton for his leadership, passion, and commitment in delivering such an important and impactful week for our school community.
Another significant highlight has been our Year 9 Future You Week, which provided students with valuable opportunities to explore career pathways, develop an understanding of future education and employment options, and strengthen their wellbeing and personal development skills. Throughout the week, students participated in a range of engaging activities, workshops, and presentations designed to encourage them to think about their aspirations, interests, and future goals. Thank you to the staff, presenters, and community partners who contributed to making the week such a success.
Our Year 10 students have also demonstrated great maturity and commitment as they completed examinations across all of their core subjects. The examination period provided students with an important opportunity to develop study habits, revision strategies, and examination skills that will support them as they progress into their senior years of schooling. We congratulate our Year 10 students on their efforts and resilience throughout this process.
Behind the scenes, our teaching staff have been working diligently to finalise Semester 1 Reports. This is a significant undertaking, and we thank all staff for the time and care they invest in providing meaningful feedback to students and families. Reports will be available to families via Compass on Thursday 25 June, providing an overview of student achievement, progress, and areas for future growth.
As we move towards the end of the semester, we encourage all students to continue applying themselves to their learning and to take pride in the progress they have made so far this year. The achievements of our students across the classroom, wellbeing initiatives, careers education, cultural learning opportunities, and extracurricular activities continue to demonstrate the strength of our school community.
Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your ongoing support in making our school community a positive and successful place for learning. We look forward to an exciting and productive Semester 2.
Best wishes,
Ms Lyndal Yardas
