You never thought you would be here,

You made it, it’s very clear,

You dare, run well you cry,

Step aside, I’m going to try.

Your heart beats faster, the starter says go,

You try to run fast, but there’s no were to go

It’s all before you, 3000m, run, run, run.

This is yours, believe, have fun.

The crowded space begins to spread,

You disappear around the bend,

We can’t see you anymore,

But we are with you to the core.

Your muscles push you ahead,

In and out of paths you tread,

Up and down asphalt planes

You got this.

There’s no denying, you are brave,

Eyes steering, as you move ahead,

You start to take deeper breaths,

This is your ultimate test.

Hero forever, though you fall behind,

Your fire still burns, find a stride,

The wind blows hard amongst the trees,

Only 1km, then things will ease.

Don’t worry I’ll be there when you finish,

There I am, take a look,

A shadow, I’m there up on the hill,

You kept your promise, now you can chill.

The race suddenly ends,

Your hands on your hips,

The air taste cold, embrace,

Proud hero after the chase.
