Fire Education in Prep

On Tuesday, we had the much-anticipated 2nd Fire Fighter visit with the fire truck! The Prep students were taken on a tour of the truck and even got to use the hose!

It was a very exciting visit, as the firefighters had to leave to go to a real emergency midway through the visit. We are also very proud of our Year One and Two students who stayed focused during their writing time whilst the fire truck was out the window!

NSS is one of Australia's most beloved annual reading events, bringing together millions of children, families, libraries, schools and early learning centres to share the same story, at the same time, right across Australia. It’s a joyful celebration of reading, literacy, community and a reminder of the essential role libraries and schools play in nurturing learning, connection and a love of stories.

On Wednesday, 27th May at 12pm, our Junior School students gathered together in the hall to listen to the live streaming of the picture story book ‘Luna Roo, the Kangaroo Baller’. Our students joined millions of other students around Australia to promote the enjoyment of reading. After the story, there was a live drawing demonstration by the illustrator of Luna Roo.

After the story, our Junior classes enjoyed making finger puppets of the main characters. The storybook is available to listen to on Story Box Library. Please see the details to log in below.
