What's happening in Term 3?
PREP VISUAL ARTS:
In Visual Arts this term, the students will cover different Visual Arts areas. They will recognise and draw basic lines, patterns and two-dimensional shapes. The students will identify and use primary colours to create artworks. The students will explore and manipulate construction materials to express ideas. Students will explore printing techniques to create textural effects. Students will also describe and identify ideas in artworks they view and make.
This term in Visual Arts, Foundation students will explore various areas including recognizing and drawing basic lines, patterns, and shapes, using primary colours to create artworks, manipulating construction materials to express ideas, exploring printing techniques for textural effects, and describing and identifying ideas in viewed and created artworks.
YEAR 1 VISUAL ARTS:
Year One students will explore a variety of exciting art techniques, including printing, painting, collage, drawing, and mixed media. Inspired by artists such as Romero Britto, students will experiment with colour, line, shape, pattern, and texture while creating imaginative and vibrant artworks. They will develop confidence using a range of art materials and tools, share their creative ideas with others, and reflect on their artistic journey. We look forward to seeing their creativity shine as they explore the wonderful world of art!
YEAR 2 VISUAL ARTS:
In Visual Arts this term, the students will cover different Visual Arts areas. Students will create artwork using the elements of line, space, colour and texture. They will identify primary colours and create secondary colours. Students will follow instructions and processes to complete an artwork piece. They will present, discuss and provide feedback on their own and others artwork.
This term in Visual Arts, Year Two students will explore various areas, creating artwork by incorporating elements such as line, space, colour, and texture. They will also identify primary colours and generate secondary colours, follow instructions and processes to complete artwork, and engage in presenting, discussing, and providing feedback on both their own and their peers' artwork.
YEAR 4 VISUAL ARTS:
In Visual Arts this term, the students will cover different Visual Arts areas. Students will learn to interpret art works creatively. They will use a range of mediums and materials effectively. Students will learn to select and apply techniques and processes. They will also discuss and evaluate their own and others’ visual artworks.
During this term in Visual Arts, Year Four students will explore various areas, including creatively interpreting artworks, effectively utilising a range of mediums and materials, selecting and applying techniques and processes, and engaging in discussions and evaluations of both their own and others' visual artworks.
YEAR 6 VISUAL ARTS:
This term, Year 6 students will continue to build their artistic skills through creative and thought-provoking art experiences. Students will investigate the work of a range of artists, experiment with different materials and techniques, and explore how visual elements can be used to communicate ideas and tell stories. Through drawing, painting, mixed media, and design-based projects, students will refine their creative processes, develop confidence in expressing their ideas, and engage in meaningful discussions about art. We are excited to see the unique and imaginative artworks they create throughout the term.

Visual Arts: Term 3, Week 2
DRAWING CLUB:
At the start of Term 3, students in Drawing Club celebrated NAIDOC Week by learning about its significance and this year's theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrating 50 Years of NAIDOC. Students explored why NAIDOC Week is an important time to recognise and celebrate the history, cultures, achievements, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They completed NAIDOC-themed colouring activities inspired by Indigenous art and symbols while discussing the importance of respecting Australia's First Nations Peoples and their ongoing connection to Country, culture, and community. It was a meaningful opportunity for students to reflect, learn, and celebrate together.
