Exciting New Mural Coming to the Brigidine Campus

A vibrant new mural is soon to be unveiled at our Brigidine Campus - a colourful celebration of community, culture and creativity that reflects the spirit of our school and the wider Echuca community. This project has been proudly organised by Mali Green, Savannah Smith and Lucy Cox, whose leadership, enthusiasm and commitment have shaped every stage of its development. The mural itself has been beautifully designed by Year 11 Visual Communications student Emily Burgess, who has brought the students’ vision to life through thoughtful symbolism and artistic detail. The girls would also like to acknowledge Lily Adriaans and Evie McCredden who supported the design process as part of the consultative committee.

The mural weaves together a series of meaningful images that tell a story of connection, belonging and growth. The Riverboat highlights the Murray River’s importance in Echuca’s history, symbolising trade, transport and the shared heritage of Indigenous and non‑Indigenous communities. The Wharf and historic buildings acknowledge Echuca’s past as a bustling inland port, celebrating the resilience and enterprise that helped shape the town.

The Three Students represent the young people of our community and the future they are helping to build. They also honour Mali, Savannah and Lucy, whose teamwork and initiative made this project possible. The Tree with Colourful Leaves symbolises unity and diversity, with each leaf representing one of our six House groups. Together, the leaves form a strong, flourishing tree that reflects the strength and vibrancy of our school community.

The Campfire reminds us of gathering, storytelling and connection - traditions that have strengthened communities for thousands of years. Flowing through the mural, the Waterway represents life, movement and our ongoing relationship with Country.

This mural is a celebration of history, culture, creativity and student leadership. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved, and we can’t wait to see the finished artwork brightening the Brigidine Campus and inspiring our community for years to come.
