I would like to thank the school/community for support me to complete the final component of my Unlocking Potential: Principal Preparation course. As part of this I was provided the opportunity to shadow Ben Slocombe Principal at Melrose Primary School. Throughout this experience I witnessed student learning, improved school culture and the unique characteristics of another school, things I will continue to refine and implement in my work at Mt Beauty SC.
It is important for me to thank Simone and the Leadership Team for their support in backfilling my position and planning for continued school success. Shantelle Stimson thrived in her time as Acting Assistant Principal and has shared with me highlights from the last 4.5 weeks.
Every day of attendance matters, and this is especially true for non-school approved absences. While missing a single day may seem minor, absences add up quickly and can significantly impact a student's learning. The effects of school absences extend beyond the current year, influencing academic achievement in future years as well.

Victoria’s education system celebrates diversity and is committed to supporting the participation and achievement of all students. Inclusive education recognises that some students have additional needs or intersecting identities that may require specific considerations.
At Mount Beauty Secondary College, we encourage families to meet with us if students require curriculum or environmental adjustments. Likewise, if staff identify concerns, they will proactively reach out to families to discuss strategies for support.
