Principal's Report

The toilet refurbishment project is finally complete and handover occurred on Tuesday afternoon! After a short assembly on Wednesday morning, staff and students had the chance to look at the upgraded facilities, before beginning to use them.
This project ran well over time, and the building company were apologetic, however it was the staff and students that suffered due to their incompetent execution of the project.
I want to again thank all the staff and students for their patience. While no one enjoyed the situation we were put in, everybody shared the facilities and worked together to make it work, with frustration of having to wait a bit never showing through. These are the true signs of a resilient community that cares for each other, clearly demonstrating our school values of respect and kindness.

Conferences are next week! Conferences (formerly Parent Teacher Interviews) are being held on Tuesday 31st March, from 4 – 7pm, providing families an opportunity to meet with their child’s teachers and discuss their child’s learning. 10 minute meetings are available and the booking for these meetings is now open. If you have any problems booking, please contact the office for assistance. Students are asked to participate in these discussions.
It can be hard to book a time with all teachers, so if you have questions, or want to discuss your child’s progress, please contact the teacher directly at school.
We are quickly heading towards the holidays.
With 1 week left of Term 1, I can’t believe we are nearly a quarter of the way through the year. Time really does fly! Just a reminder that next week is a shortened week, with school finishing for students at 2.30pm next Thursday, 2nd April due to Good Friday on Friday, 3rd April.
We are seeking applicants for the following positions, for the remainder of the year. Please apply through School Jobs Vic (formerly Recruitment Online).
1521591 Library Assistant and Library Student Support (which includes Distance Education students) 1 day per week, currently Wednesdays, until the end of the year.
1521592 Student in Class Support (Teacher/Student Aide) 2 days per week, (currently Thursdays and Fridays), until the end of the year
Chief Exam Supervisor
Our long standing Chief Exam Supervisor, Cathy Gunn, has decided that she would prefer to not continue in this role this year. The Chief Exam Supervisor oversees the preparation for, and running of, the GAT (16th June) and the VCAA External Exams, held from the end of October and through most of November each year.
If you are interested in this role, please contact Principal Simone Roy, or Senior School Coordinator Colleen Adams at school for more information.
If you are not interested in managing the exams, but would like to be an invigilator (exam supervisor), please also get in touch. Please note: a Working With Children Check (for employees) is mandatory for these roles and referee checks will take place.
