Sustainability Update

Our Environment Leaders have been working incredibly hard to care for and improve our school yard and garden. After the holidays, the garden had become very overgrown and the soil needed some extra attention, so students rolled up their sleeves to compost, refresh the veggie beds and bring the garden back to life.

The students displayed excellent teamwork and collaborated beautifully as they cleared a mass of autumn leaves, weeded garden beds and helped tidy up our outdoor spaces. Their enthusiasm and care for the environment has been wonderful to see.

We had Viv from Bunnings come out to visit and she brought some new flowers and veggie seedings. We were also excited to harvest some of our homegrown vegetables, including tomatoes, green beans and lettuce — a rewarding result of all our hard work!

In Gardening Club, we  have been busy planting new flowers around the school to brighten our grounds and support local pollinators. We have also been watering our new plants and taking great care of our seedlings as they begin to grow. We planted some lovely bedding plants and we are excited to see them grow throughout the term.

It has been a fantastic start to the term in sustainability, and we are so proud of the dedication our students are showing as they help our school garden flourish.
