Good Afternoon Parents Students, Staff and Friends of Derinya,

It is hard to believe that the term is ending. We have had a busy time with many exciting events, achievements and great learning happening all throughout the school.

Year 3 Moonlit Sanctuary

Well done to our year 3’s who had a wonderful day on Wednesday at Moonlit Sanctuary. This excursion was a wonderful connection to the student’s unit of inquiry around identifying the human impact on endangered species. Many thanks to the children for representing our school so beautifully and to the teachers for their organisation and support.

Year 4 Campers

This afternoon we welcome our year 4 students back to Derinya after a fabulous three days at The Ranch in Camp Schank This camp was jam packed full of adventure and excitement with highlights to include the giant swing, horse riding and mountain boarding to name just a few. The children were spectacular on this camp and are to be congratulated on all that they achieved over the three days. A big shout out to our parent helpers and teachers who did a wonderful job.

Summer Lightning Premiership

Well done to all our fantastic year 6 students who participated in this week’s Summer Lightning Premiership. Congratulations to both of our softball teams who were victorious and progress to the next round of competition.

Working Bee

Tonight we have our working bee so please come along if you have a few hours free straight after school. We will finish off with a sausage sizzle and refreshments around 6pm. Everyone is welcome.

Easter Raffle and Free Dress Day

A reminder to send back your raffle tickets by Wednesday 27th March in preparation for the draw on Thursday 28th at assembly. The first 100 prizes are drawn after school on Wednesday with the 3 major being done at the assembly.

Please note that we will be having a free dress day this coming Tuesday 26th March. Please have your child bring along an Easter egg to donate towards our raffle.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for a fantastic first term and wish you all a safe and happy holiday break.
