Whole School Happenings

‘The Day the Tables Quit (and then came back better than ever!)’
Big changes have been happening at school! Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve said goodbye to our old tables and embraced a temporary setup in each classroom. What has made this transition truly remarkable is the way our students have stepped up—not only helping* with the move, but adapting to their 'new' classrooms with enthusiasm and positivity.
From creative seating arrangements to making the most of their transformed learning spaces, students have embraced the challenge with smiles, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun. Their resilience and ability to turn change into adventure have been awesome to see.
We have linked up with Pacific Assist who provide support for students in countries less fortunate than us. By the end of the year, a huge container will be delivered to school, and the Pacific Assist team will load up the near 300 tables and send this to schools in Papua New Guinea.
And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for—the arrival of our brand-new tables! They look absolutely fantastic, bringing a fresh energy to our classrooms. The students are thrilled to settle in and get back to their learning, now with beautifully designed tables that make every lesson even more enjoyable.
A huge thank you to our incredible students, teachers, and staff for making this transition seamless and exciting!
*OHS standards and practices were implemented, including in the photo taken of the students conquering and celebrating moving all the tables!
