Principal's Message
From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 1, Week 9
Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,
We are almost at the end of Term 1. We still have a busy two weeks left. As the term draws to a close we would like to remind all families that it is important that all students attend up to and including the last day of term.
Behaviour Focus
Our behaviour focus for Week 9 is Respectful,
We are learning to:
Respond with kindness
We are successful when:
Using kind language everywhere
Being aware of other people's bubble
Stop and think before you respond - Is it kind?
Being fair and share
Harmony Day
Last Wednesday, 18th March we celebrated Harmony Day by wearing orange and activities in our classrooms. Harmony Day is celebrated on 21st March each year and recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Science & Engineering Challenge
Our students in Yrs 3-6 had the opportunity last Friday to attend the Newcastle University's Science & Engineering Challenge at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre. All students had a fantastic time participating in experiments and engineering challenges.
Premier's Spelling Bee
Students in Yrs 3-6 have been given their spelling words for the Premier's Spelling Bee, and we ask that these words be revised at home. Just 10 mins a day to review the list is all that is needed.
Missing Decodable Home Readers
We are missing a range of decodable home readers. If you have any of these books at home, could you please return them to the classroom teacher as soon as possible. These books are used daily for reading and are used by all students. If they are not returned our students are disadvantaged in their reading.
Attendance Matters

Turn Up Awards
The "Turn Up" award was introduced last year to encourage our students to attend school every day. Each day your child attends their name will be entered into the draw to receive a paddle pop voucher. A voucher will be issued each week to each class. If your child attends 5 times in that week they have 5 entries. If they attend two days in that week they have 2 entries. Congratulations to our winners for Week 8:

Guesses are 50c each and tickets in the raffle are $1 each. We will announce the winner of our guessing competition and draw the prizes to our raffle at the Easter Hat Parade. See the School Office for details.
Walhealth 715 Health Checks
Walhealth will be carrying out 715 Health Checks on Thursday, 23rd April (Term 2, Week 1). Notes for all indigenous students were sent home last week. Please ensure these forms are returned to the school office before Thursday, 2nd April to ensure your child's place in this program.
Parent/Carer Survey
In Term 2, we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child's learning is supported.
Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what's working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The survey is available in Term 2 and when the link goes live, we will share it with you.
Kind regards
Kathy Nott
