Calling all home gardeners!

Kindergarten needs you!

Kindergarten is running a Farmer's Market on Friday 7 November to experience what it's really like to be farmers that sell produce at the market. We are seeking donations of home-grown produce to sort and sell and would be thrilled if you had something to share. If you can help, please click the button below to let us know. Your produce can be dropped off on the morning of Friday 7 November to the Kindergarten classrooms or the office. 

NCS staff are our invited customers for the day, as well as Kindergarten parents if there is produce remaining. The proceeds of our stall will go directly to supporting our school's Compassion sponsor children. We thank you for your support!

Important Information About Your Child’s Digital Learning Tools at NCS

As part of our commitment to providing students at Nowra Christian School with a safe and effective digital learning environment, we are writing to inform you about our use of Google Workspace for Education.Google's Terms of Service require that we obtain parental consent for students under the age of 18 to use their 'Additional Services'. These are powerful tools for collaboration and learning that go beyond core services like Gmail and Calendar. 

We have been successfully using many of these Google services to enhance learning since 2015.

Annual Review and New Technologies

Each year, we conduct a review of these services. The world of digital technology is constantly evolving, with a significant recent development being the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) integrated into many online tools. After careful consideration, we have approved a range of Google’s Additional Services for student use. This includes access to some of Google's new educational AI models, part of a family of models known as LearnLM, which are specifically designed for learning.

Our Commitment to Security and Privacy

Our approach remains, as always, to err on the side of caution. A critical factor in our decision to use Google's educational tools is their robust security and privacy protections. We want to assure you that any interaction your child has with these services, including AI, is protected. Student data remains within our secure NCS Google environment and is not used to train Google's AI models.We are committed to minimising online distractions and ensuring that all the digital services we use are appropriate and secure for a school setting.

Your Consent

We appreciate the trust you place in us as we partner with you in your child’s education. To ensure your child has access to the same valuable educational resources as their peers, we will enable these approved Google Additional Services for their school account.

If you are in agreement with this, no action is required from you. However, if you have any concerns or would like clarification on any of the services we use, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
