Principal's Report 

There is a place for everyone at Beaumaris — and at Beaumaris, everyone can find their place in the world.

The last fortnight has provided many wonderful examples of our students finding their place at Beaumaris. Whether performing on stage, participating in House activities, connecting with teachers and families or giving back to the wider community, our students continue to embrace the many opportunities available to them at Beaumaris Secondary College.

College Production – Rock of Ages

Congratulations to the cast, band, backstage crew and staff involved in our 2026 College Production, Rock of Ages, held from 20–22 August. Across three outstanding performances, our students showcased their exceptional talent, creativity and commitment, having dedicated countless hours to rehearsals while balancing their academic commitments. 

A special thank you to Ms Price, Ms Irvine, Ms O'Malley and the entire production team for the significant time, energy and commitment they gave to bringing Rock of Ages to the stage and providing such a wonderful opportunity for our students. Thank you also to Mr de Valle for capturing the production so wonderfully through his photography.

Thank you to the many families, staff, alumni and community members who attended and supported the production, helping to make it such a wonderful success. I would also like to acknowledge the support of our families through their Curriculum Innovation contributions, which help fund opportunities such as our College Production and enrich the educational experiences we are able to provide our students.

It was a fantastic celebration of the performing arts at Beaumaris Secondary College and an achievement of which everyone involved should be very proud.

Beauy Bake Off

There were some fantastic entries in this year’s annual Beauy Bake Off House event, which I had the pleasure of judging alongside Assistant Principal Ms Kirk and Russell Robertson. Thank you to all students who entered the competition or purchased treats, helping to raise $656 for the Bianca and Holly GoFundMe. Thank you also to Mr Cirillo for leading another successful and enjoyable House activity. 

VCE P/S/T Conferences

Thank you to the many families who took up the opportunity to attend our recent VCE Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences. These conversations provide a valuable opportunity for students, parents/carers and teachers to connect, discuss progress and identify ways we can continue to support each student in their learning.

I would also like to thank our teaching staff for their time and commitment to these important conversations.

Wear It Purple Day

On Monday 31 August, students and staff came together to recognise Wear It Purple Day, celebrating inclusion, belonging and the importance of ensuring all young people feel supported and valued within our community. Thank you to Ms Green and our Pride Club students for organising the day and providing opportunities for our school community to get involved.

Community Connections

Our students continue to demonstrate the importance of giving back and connecting with the wider community. Our Year 9 Beyond students recently wrapped up their Community Connections Program, volunteering their time at local primary schools, kindergartens and childcare centres, as well as hosting the Beauy Big Afternoon Tea, which brought members of our community together here at the college.

We have also seen students supporting our community through volunteering at the Kiwanis Bunnings BBQ and assisting with the Beaumaris North Primary School Athletics Carnival.

We were also pleased to host the Bayside Wellbeing Network Meeting in the MCC Pavilion, bringing together educators, wellbeing staff and local service providers to share knowledge and explore ways to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people across our community.

These experiences and partnerships provide valuable opportunities to strengthen local connections while supporting the wellbeing and development of young people. I am proud of the way our students and staff continue to represent Beaumaris Secondary College and contribute beyond the college.

Year 10 Snow Camp #2

Our second group of Year 10 students enjoyed their winter adventure at Mt Buller from Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 August. A huge thank you to the staff who made this camp possible for our students.

2026 Parent / Carer Opinion Survey

A friendly reminder that the 2026 Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will close on Friday 18 September. We greatly value your feedback and encourage families to take a few moments to share their thoughts. Your feedback helps us understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve, informing our future planning and priorities.

Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of Term 3, a reminder that students will be dismissed at 2:30pm on Friday 18 September, with the college office closing at 3:00pm. Progress Reports will also be published on Friday 18 September, with families notified via Compass.

I wish all students, staff and families a positive and productive final two weeks of term.
