Staffing Update and further announcements

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Ellie Newton and her partner, Dan, have welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Marli, into the world! Congratulations to the happy family. Staff and students are looking forward to meeting Marli, very soon.

At the end of Term 2, we farewelled Emmi Kildea, who concluded her time in Education Support after several dedicated years at Baxter Primary School. Emmi has transitioned to a role in a kindergarten setting, and we wish her every success in this exciting new chapter.

We also said goodbye to Judy Martin, another valued member of our Education Support team. Judy now works at Moorooduc Primary School, following one of our former students. We extend our best wishes to Judy.

In light of these announcements and following a recent recruitment process, we are pleased to welcome Giulia Camillo to our team. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to the positive contributions she will bring to our school community.

Additionally, we are happy to announce that Kelsey Brisbane will join our Education Support team in the coming weeks. Kelsey brings experience from the early childhood sector, and we warmly welcome her to the team.

Japanese

We are excited to announce that our school has introduced Japanese classes for students this term. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to discover a new language and gain exposure to a different culture.

The classes are led by Aila Burke, who brings a deep connection to the culture. Aila’s mother is Japanese, and Aila herself is fluent in the language after living in Japan for several years.

These sessions run for half an hour per week and are supervised by the classroom teacher while Aila continues her studies in education.

School improvement work

We would like to inform you that upcoming improvement works will be taking place on the school grounds. Every effort has been made to ensure these works cause minimal disruption to student learning and daily routines.

To support this, a designated utility area has been set up in the corner of the school grounds (near the staff carpark) to safely store materials and provide access for workers. All going to plan, these works should be completed by the school holidays. Thank you for your understanding as we work to enhance our school environment.
