Principal's Report

Dear families,

This will be the final newsletter this term, so it is timely to celebrate much of the success we have had over the past few weeks.

The senior Netball team played off in the State finals in Melbourne on Wednesday. This team competed against some of the state’s elite sporting schools, such as Haileybury, Geelong Grammar and Geelong College and Carey Grammar, and were successful in taking a win in one game. Last week we had a number of teams compete at the Black Ranges Junior Basketball Tournament in Horsham and Ararat where they displayed determination and College spirit. Students also represented St Brigid’s College at the Black Ranges Athletics where several students excelled and will now progress to the Greater Western Athletics next term.

This evening, I have the pleasure of attending the Victorian Catholic Education Authority (VCEA) Indigenous Graduation ceremony with two of our senior students, Charlie Kuhn and Curtly McDonald, at Rydges Hotel in Melbourne.

Last Friday morning, our community came together to celebrate Father's Day in our new student café. Fathers/Father figures and their children enjoyed bacon and egg muffins and coffee while mixing together in a friendly atmosphere. It was wonderful to be able to showcase our great new facilities in Stage 1 of our refurbishment and I would like to thank Malory Ryan for organising this event.

As we approach the end of Term Three, the pace accelerates. Students are finalising assessments, and our Year 12 students are completing the last of their School Assessed Coursework in preparation for trial exams, scheduled for the first week of Term 4. There will also be practice exams over the holidays.

The selection process for our 2026 College Captains is underway. I ask parents to encourage their child to step up and apply for leadership positions when they are available. Student and staff voting will begin soon.
