Deputy Principal's Report

Hello!
We hope everyone enjoyed the extended break over the Melbourne Cup weekend and our recent School Closure Day. It’s always wonderful to have a little extra time to rest, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. As we return to school, we trust that both students and staff are feeling refreshed and ready to embrace the final weeks of the year with enthusiasm and energy.
The last part of Term 4 is always a special time filled with celebrations of learning, reflection on growth, and preparation for the year ahead. Let’s finish the term with gusto, gratitude, and a shared commitment to making these last weeks both meaningful and memorable for our students.
Report Timeline
Semester 2 Reports for our students will once again be delivered through the nForma Parent Portal App. Student reports will be distributed to parents via the app on Friday December 12th from 1:00 PM onwards. More detailed information on accessing students reports will be included in the next newsletter.
PSG Meetings
For families that attend PSG Meetings with the Learning Diversity Team and your child's classroom teacher, please keep an eye out for an email invitation from Mr Callum Mills in the coming weeks. During this meeting we will present student PLPs and discuss strategies to ensure a smooth handover to next years teaching team. We will continue to use School Interviews as the booking platform for PSG Meetings.
Celebration of Excellence
This fortnight, we celebrate Mayura and Sebastian from 4D for their outstanding work in Italian. As part of their Italian Slides Presentation, they created a detailed outline of their typical school day, matching times of the day with the events that would usually take place.
Mayura and Sebastian presented their slideshow to Mr Mills and Ms Zeeng with exceptional fluency and pronunciation, clearly demonstrating both confidence and a deep understanding of the language. Signora Sirianni was extremely proud of their dedication, effort, and the enthusiasm they brought to the task.
You can view Mayura's slideshow by clicking here
Congratulations, Mayura and Sebastian!
Narelle's Book Recommendations
👋Hello again from Narelle, our wonderful Librarian!
If your family enjoys humorous picture books, Mo Willems’ Pigeon series is a wonderful addition to your bookshelf (and a great idea for a Christmas present too!). For even more laughter, explore Willems’ YouTube channel, the Hidden Pigeon Channel, featuring read-alouds and animations that bring his beloved characters to life.
Mo Willems is the award-winning author and illustrator behind the much-loved Pigeon
picture book series - a true delight for readers both young and not-so-young. We first meet our cheeky pigeon friend in Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, where readers are given one clear instruction: don’t let him drive! Of course, our persuasive pigeon will do everything he can to convince you otherwise…
The fun continues in other hilarious adventures such as Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!, The Pigeon Will Ride the Roller Coaster!, and The Duckling Gets a Cookie!? Each story is filled with humour, expression, and interactive fun — making them perfect for reading aloud together at home.
Have a great week - May God Bless
Laura and Callum
