2025 NAPLAN RESULTS

Congratulations to our students and teachers on these outstanding results! POPS continues to be a high performing school, where students consistently achieve exceptional outcomes.

SCHOOL COUNCIL UPDATE

Traffic Safety on Bowmore Avenue

At our recent School Council meeting, traffic concerns on Bowmore Avenue were a key topic of discussion. It has been observed that some students are being called out by parents or carers to cross directly into the street to get into cars. Coupled with concerning driver behavior, this continues to pose a serious safety risk. As discussed previously, it is only a matter of time before an accident could occur if changes are not made.

The School Council has agreed to approach Manningham Council to request community consultation regarding traffic signage, traffic flow, and driver behaviour around the school. Our goal is to make the area safer for all students, families, and pedestrians.

STORYTIME

Last Monday, 20 preschool children joined me and the Year 6 library team for a delightful bug-themed storytime. Our little explorers went on a thrilling bug hunt around the library before settling in to read the classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Storytime is full of fun, learning, and imagination, and our next session will be on October 20. We can’t wait to see more little readers visiting the GEM Centre!

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

Well done to Mia T (6D) who recently represented Park Orchards Primary School at the Victorian Skiing Interschools. Mia competed in both Ski Cross and Alpine Giant Slalom, qualifying for the finals in Ski Cross and placing 32nd out of 176 competitors. She also achieved an impressive 36th place out of 198 competitors in Alpine Giant Slalom. Congratulations, Mia, a fantastic achievement!
