High flyers return

St George’s was thrilled to welcome back our highest-achieving Grammarians from the Class of 2024. Well done to Will, Clare, Harry, Hamish, Linus, Alicia, Sadie, Olivia, Sarah, Tate, Benjamin, Eloise, Hayden, Tayla and Jessica who attained outstanding results in ATAR and APEx pathways. 

Emily Everett, Year 12

After placing in the Top 4 in the State for the WA School-Based Apprentice of the Year category – AND recently receiving the North Metropolitan TAFE Ambassador Award for the School-Based Trainee of the Year category - comes this video. Hear about the Sport and Recreation pathways Emily is enjoying as a Year 12 at St George’s:

Adam Lowe and Zara Jones, Year 10 and 11

Adam and Zara completed a 10-day intensive course in the holidays, mentored by members of the Binar Space Program and Space Science and Technology Centre, where they:

  • Designed, built and launched custom rockets and payloads 
  • Learned hardware and software design principles 
  • Created their own custom-made rocket livery and team t-shirts using a CNC vinyl plotter
  • Gained experience with sensor data processing, prototyped their electronics on breadboards, and soldered their payloads onto their rocket payload boards.
  • Tested their payloads using professional space environment simulation equipment in the Curtin University Faculty of Science and Engineering labs.
  • Designed and 3D-printed custom nose cones, modelled rocket trajectories, and processed flight data.
  • Showcased their work in presentations to peers, families, and mentors.

Zara Jones, Future Leader

In another huge achievement, Zara has been selected for the 2025 Future Female Leaders Program - one of only 20 participants from nearly 300 expressions of interest across Western Australia.

Future Female Leaders is dedicated to empowering young women and fostering leadership skills to build our next-generation of female talent for Western Australia.The selection process was highly competitive, and Zara stood out due to her passion, leadership potential and commitment to making an impact.

WAAPA News

St George's extends our congratulations to Class of 2024 graduates Audrey Hunt for being accepted into a Bachelor of Dance at West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and fellow Performing Arts student Kiera Mitchell for being accepted into Production Design at WAAPA.
