Year 5

August & Jones

Year 5 students have been thoroughly engaged in our novel study of August & Jones.

Throughout the unit, they have explored the novel’s characters, themes and challenges, with a particular focus on courage, resilience and perseverance. The story has inspired rich class discussions, with students enthusiastically sharing their ideas, connections and reflections.

Inspired by August and Jones, students researched an inspirational person who has overcome challenges or made a positive difference in the lives of others. They investigated their chosen person’s achievements and identified the personal qualities that contributed to their success.

We encourage families to ask their child who inspires them and what qualities they admire most about that person.
