School Council News

Meeting 21 July 2026

It is looking like an exciting and busy year ahead with prep enrollments having signifigant uptake, a positive outcome with the large year 6 cohort departing at the end of year.

There continues to be a number of projects underway across the school after the completion of the restoration works, with a focus on some of the more underutilized areas of the school grounds. This, along with ensuring the school values and signage are more clearly visible around what makes Willy Primary a school worth celebrating. These and other projects are facilitated by voluntary contributions by families of the school community, so as we reach the halfway point of the year, please consider if you are able to contribute.

There continues to be a key focus on updates to the child safety policies, with professional learning modules being implemented throughout the teaching staff ongoing. If there are any questions to the updated policies please reach out to Matt.

What a month of events for the school community. The lantern walk. If we can paint a picture via music one only needs to look to Birds of Tokyo to emote the vibrancy seen in the turn out. No misty rain could hold the walk back, and we know the kids are still talking about it... how about that piper!?

There was also much excitment in the lead up to entering into the wild west for the trivia night, with the parents of our kids taking the literal bull by the horns for a fantastic night as another incredible community event, hosted by Friends of Willy,  went off with a bang.

Which is the perfect segway... These events don't happen however without the incredible support of the school community both in donations, organisation and support - the call has gone out to get behind the group to continue such a major part of our school community. If you think you can help, please reach out to Julia Germon.
