Dear families,

Staffing Update

We are both proud and a little sad to share that Rebecca Givogue has accepted an exciting opportunity to take on the role of Acting Assistant Principal at Carlton Primary School.

Throughout her time at Williamstown Primary School, Bec has made an outstanding contribution to our school community. Her leadership across literacy, commitment to high-quality teaching and learning, and genuine care for our students and staff have had a significant and lasting impact. Bec has been a highly valued colleague and leader, and our school is undoubtedly better for her time here.

While Bec’s appointment is initially for the remainder of 2026, there is the potential for the role to continue beyond this year. We congratulate Bec on this well-deserved opportunity and wish her every success as she takes this next step in her leadership journey.

Anna Wynn will continue to support students within the school’s literacy support program, ensuring continuity for students currently accessing this assistance. Over the coming weeks, we will work through arrangements to finalise the leadership and learning support responsibilities previously held by Bec. Further information will be shared once these arrangements have been confirmed.

100 Days of Prep

This Friday, our Prep students will celebrate a very special milestone—100 days of school!

The day will recognise how much our youngest Willy Kids have learned, grown and achieved since beginning their primary school journey. Students will enjoy a range of fun activities centred around the number 100 while celebrating with their classmates and teachers.

Congratulations to all our Prep students on reaching this exciting milestone. We are incredibly proud of the confidence, friendships and love of learning they have developed throughout their first 100 days at Willy Primary.

Camp Deposits

A reminder to families that participation in our school camps program requires payment of a non-refundable deposit by the nominated due date (06/08/2026).

We understand these deposits are often required well before the camp and final payment date. However, they are essential to the planning process, as accommodation, transport and other costs are calculated based on confirmed student attendance. Deposits help ensure the school is not left with an operating loss if attendance changes after bookings have been confirmed.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer extensions, as deposit deadlines directly align with the camp’s booking and planning timelines. We appreciate families’ understanding and support.

FOW Trivia Night Success

A huge thank you to our Friends of Willy community for organising another fantastic Trivia Night. The event was a wonderful evening of fun and connection, raising more than $9,000 for our school.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated prizes, supported the event or volunteered their time. This outstanding result reflects the generosity and community spirit that make Willy Primary such a special place.

2027 Foundation Enrolments Close This Friday

A reminder that applications for 2027 Foundation enrolment close this Friday, 31 July. Families intending to enrol are encouraged to submit their completed application by the deadline. Out-of-zone applicants should also include a brief letter outlining why Williamstown Primary School is their preferred choice. (This does not include enrolment of students that already have siblings at the school)

Student Work During Family Holidays

A reminder that the school does not provide additional schoolwork or homework for students who are absent due to family holidays during the school term.

Holidays offer a broad range of valuable experiences, and we encourage students to immerse themselves in these opportunities. Students may choose to keep a journal about their experiences and collect items such as tickets, brochures, photographs or postcards to write about and reflect upon.

On their return, students will also have opportunities to share some of their holiday experiences and learning with their class.
