Acting Principal's Report

Acting Principal's Report
I am pleased to be writing my first report as Acting Principal, and I'm looking forward to stepping into the role while Matt is on leave. My sincere thanks to Dylan Cuttriss, who has stepped up as Acting Assistant Principal, and to all our staff for their support and professionalism as we settle into these new arrangements. It's made for a smooth and positive start.
It's been a busy stretch for our senior students, with Year 11 and Year 10 working their way through end-of-semester exams. They've approached the assessment period with real focus, and I commend them on their effort.
A reminder that next Tuesday 16th June, is a pupil-free day for those students not sitting the General Achievement Test (GAT). On the same day, we're delighted to host our Experience Day, welcoming Grade 5 and 6 students from our feeder schools for a full day of classes and activities. It's always a highlight of the calendar and a wonderful chance to showcase what life at Rochester Secondary College has to offer.
A note on uniform: as we head into the cooler months, please ensure students are in full school uniform. White shoes, hoodies and black track pants are not part of our uniform and should not be worn to school. We appreciate families' support in maintaining our high standards of presentation.
This term we've continued our work with School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), with a particular focus on establishing clear and consistent classroom expectations. This work helps create calm, predictable learning environments where every student knows what's expected of them and can do their best.
Finally, I want to highlight our Senior School Information Night on Wednesday 24th June. This is a must-attend event for all students in Year 9 and above and their families, providing important information about pathways, subject selection and the years ahead. I strongly encourage everyone to come along.
Wishing all our families a great fortnight.
Mitchell Bright - Acting Principal
