Uniform Requirements

We believe all students have the right to explore their environments freely, safely, and with ease and we have designed our uniform to accommodate this right.

Recently, we have observed that the school uniform is not always being worn as required. For clarity and consistency, it is important that families understand and follow our uniform policy. This ensures students wear the correct uniform items, do not wear non-permitted items, and helps maintain the high standards of our school.

A few things to note...

School uniforms should be correctly fitting, clean and in good repair.

Girls Formal Uniform

  • Only navy crew socks are to be worn with the dress, no tights or knee-high socks.
  • Only a choice of navy tights or navy knee-high socks are to be worn with the skirt, no crew socks.
  • Both skirt and dress must be no shorter than 5cm above the knee when kneeling. This is to allow for personal comfort of the student when participating in school activities and play, and when performing on stage.

Shoes

  • When wearing the formal uniform, shoes must be plain black 'leather style' lace up or plain black 'Mary Jane' style.
  • When wearing the sports uniform, shoes must be predominately white, black, or grey cross trainers/joggers, with same colour laces or velcro. Basketball boots, leisure, or street shoes are not permitted.

Hair Styles

  • Hair is to be neatly cut and styled so as not to draw unnecessary attention to the student.
  • No designs shaved into short hair styles.
  • Hair colour not to be significantly changed from natural colouring.
  • Long hair is to be tied back away from the face.
  • Short hair should not be less than a ‘Number 3’ over the top.

Not Permitted

  • Items of uniform that replace any ‘compulsory school issue only/ELC issue only’ items.
  • Make up, nail polish, temporary tattoos.
  • Smart watch (interactive watch).

Optional Accessories Permitted

  • Medic alert bracelet.
  • Traditional wristwatch.
  • Small silver or gold plain sleepers or studs (One per earlobe, no other piercings permitted)
  • Plain navy blue or white hair accessories (ribbons, headbands, clips, ties) (No other colours permitted).
  • Plain navy blue jacket over rugby top/jumper on days of extreme or inclement weather (No logos and no other colours permitted).

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself and your child/children with our Uniform Guide and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Uniform Shop Manager, Dani.

Expressions of Interest – Good Shepherd Sport Teams Season 2 of 2026

Dear families

We are now taking expression of interest from students interested in playing sport for a Good Shepherd team in the second season of 2026. Please note that the government sports vouchers are not eligible.

Expressions of interest are due by Friday 19th June and do not automatically guarantee a spot on a team.  Families will be notified at the end of Term 2 of teams for the new season. If you are a current basketball, netball or soccer family, please note you will need to complete a new registration to have your child continue next season, if you have not yet already done so.

Please click on the relevant link below for more information regarding each sport and to register your child's interest.

For any enquiries regarding sport at Good Shepherd please contact us at sports@gspv.sa.edu.au
