From the Principal's Desk

It's Good to be Back

While I'm not exactly running laps at the moment I am back in action and it's been so nice to visit classrooms and see all that's been happening, especially the adjustments to our teaching and learning pedagogy as part of the Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools Vision for Instruction (see Learning and Teaching page).

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes during my absence, especially to the children for the beautiful cards they sent me throughout my recovery. They certainly put a smile on my face.

A huge thank you to Miss Jane Wilkinson and Ms Deborah Courtney who assumed the executive roles and to all staff who lent support when needed.

Green and Gold Olympics Dress-Up Day

No doubt you have all been tuning into the Paris Olympics over the last five days and, if you are like me, have been staying up far too late at night.

Don't forget that tomorrow, Friday 2nd  August we are inviting all our students to come dressed in the spirit of the Olympics. This could be:

  • Green and Gold colours
  • As a sportsperson or an Olympian
  • The colours of your school house colour
  • Culture theme
  • Colours of a country

Students will be participating in some Olympic-type activities throughout the day which should be a bit of fun and allow us to get right into the Olympic spirit.

Positive Behavior

As detailed in last week's Newsletter we ask that all families read and sign the Parent-Guardian Code of Conduct sent out through Operoo yesterday.

The Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) MACS Code of Conduct is based on the following principles that everyone at Corpus Christi School:

  • has the right to be safe
  • has the right to be treated with respect and be valued even in disagreement
  • has the right to participate within a secure environment without interference, intimidation, harassment, bullying, or discrimination
  • is encouraged to be respectful, polite, courteous and considerate of others
  • has the right to be supported and challenged as ongoing learners.
