Bruce and Leo
Bruce Armstong (Batchelor, NT; Year 12 Class of 2024, St Kevin’s College, Melbourne) and Leo Ponto (Ngukurr, NT: Year 12 Class of 2024 at St Kevin’s College)
Bruce and Leo came to dinner at MITS in May and caught up with the fellas and some of the staff. Bruce is enjoying studying his Bachelor of Exercise Science at ACU in Melbourne though he says that anatomy is lots of memorising! He has a tutor and good support at ACU. Leo is continuing his good work as a plumbing apprentice with the Cooke and Dowsett Plumbing Group. He has his licence, is saving up for a car, and is playing football for the Fitzroy Stars.
Ruby Rosas
(Katherine NT, Year 12 Class of 2024, CGGS Melbourne)
Ruby, has started working part-time at MITS, as a boarding co-ordinator with the Year 7 girls. She is loving Monash Clayton, and her swap to Speech Pathology - she is in the inaugaural first year of Speech Pathology being offered at Monash. Ruby needed speech therapy as a child, and both her brothers have made terrific progress with speech therapy too, so she is super motivated. She is off to London, Paros/Greece and Croatia for a month and will sit one of her exams remotely while over there!
Kenita Bush
(Beswick community, NT; Year 12 Class of 2022, Huntingtower Melbourne)
Kenita is working as a Daluk Women’s Ranger with the Mimal Rangers, doing important and highly sophisticated land conservation, cool burning, pest management and Learning on Country with young people in Bulman.
Kaleb Rioli-Brogan
(Pirlangimpi, Tiwi Islands NT, Year 12 Class of 2024, Brighton Grammar School Melbourne)
Kaleb is working alongside Andrew Warrior doing some facilities maintenance and grounds work around Tiwi. In March this year he became vice-captain of the Imalu Tigers team.
