We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future. We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.
A big thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends (P&F) group for organising this year’s Mother’s Day and Special Persons Stall. These events are always a highlight for our students, giving them the opportunity to thoughtfully choose a special gift for someone important in their lives.
Events such as these play an important role in building community connections within our school. They create excitement for students, strengthen the partnership between school and families, and are a reminder of the many volunteers who generously give their time to support Kalinda.
We hope all of our mothers, grandmothers, carers, and special people in our students’ lives had a wonderful Mother’s Day and were able to enjoy some special moments with family.
We are incredibly excited for our students participating in the NEVR Concert at Hamer Hall this week. Students will be rehearsing tomorrow before taking to the stage tomorrow evening for what promises to be a fantastic performance. We are also thrilled that our senior Highland Dancers will be performing as part of the event. Opportunities such as these are incredibly valuable for our students. Performing in a prestigious venue like Hamer Hall helps students build confidence, teamwork, resilience, and pride in their achievements. Experiences beyond the classroom allow students to discover talents, challenge themselves, and create lasting memories.
At Kalinda, we are proud of the wide range of opportunities we provide for students to participate, perform, compete, and grow. Whether through music, dance, sport, leadership, camps, or other enrichment experiences, we strongly value creating opportunities that help every student thrive.
We are now beginning to plan for Prep enrolments for 2027. If you have a younger child or know of families intending to enrol at Kalinda, we encourage enrolments to be submitted as early as possible.
In particular, if your family has younger siblings who will be starting school in 2027, we ask that enrolment forms be completed promptly to assist us with planning for classes, staffing, and transition programs. Early enrolments help us ensure the best possible start for all future Kalinda students. We look forward to welcoming the next group of Prep students to our school community.
