Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of St Brigid’s,
I hope you have all had a lovely week. The winter weather has certainly arrived! Please make sure your child brings a warm coat to wear during recess and lunchtime if they are feeling the cold.
Can you believe there are only six days left of Term 2? A reminder that students finish Term 2 at 3:15pm on Thursday 25 June. Friday 26 June is a Student Free Day. Staff will be onsite participating in a professional development day focusing on Religious Education.
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, we held our Student-Led Conferences.
These conferences provide a wonderful opportunity for families to see what their child is learning, celebrate their achievements, and discuss their goals moving forward.
Our teachers have been busy gathering a wide range of evidence of student learning through classroom observations, formal assessment tasks and ongoing feedback to ensure that Semester One reports provide an accurate and comprehensive picture of each child's progress. The reports will be live on Friday 26th of June via the Nforma App.
I would like to sincerely thank our staff for ensuring every student knows they are cared for and are valued members of their class and our school community. Thank you also to the parents who took time out of their busy schedules to support and celebrate their child's learning, and to our students who prepared so thoughtfully for their conferences.
Our Mini Vinnies students were excited to take part in the St Vincent de Paul Winter Food Drive. This initiative supports members of our community who are doing it tough, and it was wonderful to see the generosity shown through the many food donations received.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and supported this worthwhile cause.

This is your last chance to secure tickets for our Parent Social Night tomorrow evening! It promises to be a fantastic night filled with dancing, great company and plenty of exciting prizes.
Our amazing fundraising team has worked incredibly hard to organise this event, and we are very grateful for their dedication.
There will be an impressive silent auction and raffle, with one of the most sought-after prizes being two lots of $500 off school fees.
Some of the fantastic auction items include:
Plus many more wonderful prizes available on the night!
We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Congratulations to Harry, who proudly represented St Brigid's at the Regional Cross Country event held in Hastings on Wednesday.
Hannah and I had the pleasure of watching Harry compete, and he ran an outstanding race, finishing 4th in an incredible time of 6 minutes and 44 seconds over the 2 km course. What an amazing achievement!
Harry has now qualified for the Victorian Primary Schools State Championships, which will be held at Yarra Glen on Thursday, 16 July. We wish him every success and know he will represent our school with pride.
It is already that time of year when I have the opportunity to meet with our 2027 Foundation students and their families.
These interviews begin tomorrow, so if you have a child starting school next year, please ensure you have booked your appointment.
We will be holding a general Assembly at 2:15pm tomorrow afternoon in Brigid Hall. All welcome.
We look forward to welcoming our Grandparents and Grand Friends on Friday 24th of July. Join us in Brigid Hall for a whole school Liturgy to be followed by a classroom visit and morning tea.

We will be putting together a slide show presentation for Grandparents Day. If you would like a photo of your child/ren and their Grandparents/Grand Friends to be included, please email photos to Jodie Marziano:

With just one week remaining of the school term, I would like to thank our parents, students and staff for another wonderful term filled with curiosity, exploration, learning and friendship.
Next week's newsletter will be prepared by our student leaders, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe, relaxing and happy holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term.
Yours in partnership.
