School Garden Grows

This week students from the Year 9 ‘On the Tools’ elective completed four large planter boxes in the Primary School carpark.

Following clearing works the students made these from sleepers, filled them with topsoil, spread mulch over the entire area and then designed and planted out the boxes with a variety of native plants. We hope this will be a blessing for all those who use this space. Check it out!

In competing this project, we are reminded of our Biblical Signpost: ‘building cathedrals’. We recognise that some steps are boring – no one is going to remember that task. Some jobs allow you to take pride in looking over your work. Both are necessary. Yet in doing all these we recognise that we are also ‘building cathedrals’ – the realisation that we are using and further developing our God-given abilities in ‘building a cathedral’ to God’s glory. How can I now use my gifts to even more effectively serve God?
