Principal's Message
Anthony Jackson

Jackson School is a collaborative learning community for all. We aim to develop independence through safety, respect and responsibility. We aspire to offer authentic, quality educational experiences that develop futures, create opportunities
and inspire student potential; enabling our students to be valued and contributing members of the wider community. We share and celebrate our successes and achievements.
The Issue Highlights
Dear Families,
It's been another busy term but students are now well into their groove for the 2026 academic year. 96% of our students achieved good, very good or excellent progress in their ILP Goals across all learning areas. This wouldn't be possible without the effort and attitude of our students, the commitment and resilience from our staff and the support and partnership with our families and wider community. Thank you! Today we celebrated our termly Achievement Assembly. Congratulations to all of our award winners!
There are almost too many members of community for us all to fit in the hall now. Today we started the installation of our new retractable tiered seating system in the hall. This will include two independent systems seating up to 200 people. We look forward to sharing the progress of this project with you in Term 3.
On the encouragement of the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, The Hon. Ben Carroll, students took advantage of our large screen and watched the Soccaroos play Paraguay in the World Cup today.
Today we also say goodbye to Faith Agius (PLT Leader - VPC / Class Teacher 11/12A). Faith Agius has been successful in obtaining a Learning Specialist position at Tarneit P-9 College. Faith has taught at Jackson School for 10 years. We wish her all the very best for this new role. She will commence in this role from Term 3. I am pleased to announce that Melissa Westerman will begin working with 11/12A from the start of Term 3 on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year.
End of Semester 1 Reports
You should have received your child's end of semester report by email this week which outlines your child's achievement and progress against their learning goals based upon the Victorian Curriculum (P-10) or VPC/ASDAN in Years 11 & 12. These are based upon robust end of term assessments and teacher's professional judgement. Parents/carers can also access them online via Xuno Parent Portal. Parents and carers are able to request a hard copy of their child’s report if they would like one through their current class teacher. There is a section for you to provide any comments or feedback to the classroom teacher on your child's report should you wish.
The report provides information about the learning undertaken across each curriculum area and outlines your child's progress throughout the semester. Due to industrial action undertaken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union, detailed written teacher comments may not be included in all reports. In line with Disability Inclusion reporting requirements, progress towards Individual Learning Plan (ILP) goals have been reported using progression statements that reflect your child's stage of learning.
Your child's progress towards their goals will continue to be monitored and reviewed regularly. Teachers will have the opportunity to discuss your child's progress with you at the upcoming Term 3 Student Support Group (SSG) meetings. Information regarding bookings and meeting arrangements will be provided to families early in Term 3.

School Photos

This year school photos will run over three days in Term 3, Week 1. (Tuesday 14th July, Wednesday 15th July, Thursday 16th July).
The group photos will be a little different in that the photos be taken in 'grouplings' and then be photoshopped together later on. We hope this is better for students who are absent to be included in the class photo.
Families can order and pay for photos by scanning the QR code below and entering the code E7YNKDMJ.
