Hello Gympie East parents, carers and community,
A huge thankyou to everyone for their support of our annual Grandparents' and Special Persons' Day. It was wonderful to see so many grandparents and the important people in our student's lives at East enjoying each other's company. Thankyou to our families for donating tasty food to enjoy, we had plenty of food and I also appreciate the Mums who helped to plate it up and serve. A huge thankyou to the RSL for donating two $50 vouchers and to Aussie World for donating a family pass, we really appreciate their generosity and support. It was a great day, with a fantastic vibe and I'm glad so many people enjoyed their time.
Mrs Jenny Chammen has decided to extend her leave for the remainder of the year. This is a decision that I completely support and we wish her the best and are looking forward to Mrs Chammen's return in 2027. In Term 4, Mr Chris Walters and I will be taking responsibility for teaching 6C throughout the term. This arrangement has been carefully considered with the aim of providing the class with a positive and settled Term 4, with particular attention to curriculum continuity, behaviour management and academic progression. When Mr Walters is teaching, I will be available to Staff, Students and Parents, and when I am in 6C Mr Walters will be available. We are committed to ensuring 6C has a positive and successful final term of primary school and appreciate the support of our school community as we work together to support all students.
In PBL this week, the focus is 'Be Helpful'. This week we are focussed on being helpful. Being helpful can be applied to many areas of life and this week we explored how it can have a positive effect on making our life and the life of those around us more positive. This is a broad statement that can apply to many areas of school life, whether it being making a positive behaviour choice, or choosing to maintain positivity in the face of adversity we have spent time learning different ways to make positive choices. In Week 1 of Term 4, our focus will be 'Follow playground rules'.
