Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus always falls after the Octave of Pentecost (usually sometime in June) on a Friday. In 2025, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, 27th June. 

It is a solemnity, meaning it’s one of the highest feast days in the Church.  In fact the whole month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a beautiful and powerful devotion that invites us to draw near to the tender, burning love of Christ. It is a perfect month to help children understand that Jesus’ heart is full of mercy, compassion, and love for each one of us.

The Litany of the Sacred Heart is a beautiful and powerful prayer that draws us into the virtues of Jesus’ Heart: patience, mercy, humility, and more. It’s perfect for praying as a family during the month of June.
