Year 7-9 League Tag
The Year 7–9 League Tag team had a fantastic day out in Wagga on the 18th of September for their Gala Day. Their first match was against Sacred Heart, where the girls put in a solid effort but went down 20–6. A standout in this game was Eliza V, who impressed with a runaway try and strong kicking game that consistently moved the team up the field. After a few positional and defensive adjustments, the team showed clear improvement in their second match against Lake Cargelligo, going down 10–0 in a much tighter contest. All the games throughout the day built towards what many called the game that really mattered — and the girls delivered! They claimed a hard-fought 10–8 win over Murrumbidgee High School, with Isabella P crossing the line twice to secure the victory. Other standout performers included Lucah C, who showed great speed around the breakdown; Adriana, with her determined defence; Sibella, whose leadership as captain was felt all day; and Isabella C and Alyssa G, who applied strong pressure in both attack and defence. Well done to all the players for their resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship! Coach | Fapiola Uoifalelahi
NSW Basketball Sydney
The Marian Catholic College Under 16s basketball team recently represented the school at the NSW Basketball State Finals. The boys showed great determination and teamwork across their three matches. They fought hard in their first two games, which went right down to the wire and while the results didn’t go our way, the team never gave up and continued to play with spirit until the final buzzer.
