AROUND THE COLLEGE

Performing Arts

Last week, 21 students from years 7 and 10 participated the in the Mass Dance and Mass Choir sections of the Victoria State Schools Spectacular at John Ciane Arena. Students spent two days rehearsing in the arena, taking part in technical runs, dress rehearsals and perfecting the performances.

On Friday night students spent the night at Urban Camp Melbourne, exploring the Melbourne CBD and participating in karaoke. After a restful night’s sleep, students performed in two performances which were filmed by channel 7 to be aired later in the year.

Students had an amazing experience over the 3 days, learning what it is like to be part of a professional production and making friends with other members of the cast.

HARRY POTTER

At the end of last term, 54 students travelled to the Princess Theatre in Melbourne to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The students were taken to a magical world of witchcraft and wizardry with the theatre coming to life with magic. Students were lucky enough to participate in a question-and-answer session with the main cast, asking numerous questions about how the production comes to life. Next term another group of students will have the opportunity to watch the hit musical Mamma Mia.

Lids4Kids - Canteen Collection

Our Canteen is collecting lids and bread tags for the program Lids4Kids. The program aims to create a more sustainable and environmentally conscious school through recycling. You can read more about the non-for-profit project on their website. If you have any lids or bread tags similar to the ones pictured please hand them in to our friendly canteen staff.

The canteen would like to say a special shout out to Daniel Walsh from Year 12. Daniel dropped in a bag of plastic lids for them as part of their recycle program. The Canteen have given him a canteen voucher as a token of their appreciation.
