It's been great watching Maddie get to know our Foundation students better over the past week or so. She is a brilliant acquisition to our school and the students are very lucky to have her. Both of us have been busy teaching the Foundation kids all about words and sentences and syllables and rhyming words. Maths has been focussed on basic number sense after a short unit on pattern. In Inquiry, we are exploring the notion of 'Bucket filling' as we explore the notion of showing kindness to others at our school. And of course our explorative play continues to deepen students'curiosity and creativity!

Year 1

Hi Families,

This week in Inquiry, we have been learning about how to solve challenges that might come up on the playground. We explored different scenarios, such as what to do if a friend is away from school and you’re not sure who to play with, or how to manage disagreements during a game.

The children took part in role plays where they acted as different people in the situation, including the students involved and the teacher on duty. This helped them practise talking through problems, using respectful dialogue, and thinking of positive solutions. We discussed how communication and problem-solving are key skills in building strong friendships and navigating social situations. We will continue to revisit and build on these skills regularly throughout the term and the year. Please enjoy the photos, and have a wonderful long weekend!

😊 Terri

Year 2

Hello Families,

We continued our Faith learning journey discovering the Palm Sunday story- We made a poster collage of the palm leaves being put on the ground for Jesus and the donkey to tread on. We thought of Coleen away on a family holiday and welcomed back Sidesh. The class had some class friends away not feeling their best. Congratulations to Scarlett and Avatea, our award winners at the school assembly. The classroom continues to look fabulous with making use  of our new tv for learning.  We can't wait to take part in the upcoming Italian celebrations here at school. Have a fun filled 3 day weekend.

Year 3/4 T and 3/4 AL

This Thursday, the Year 3/4 cohort had the opportunity to proudly present at assembly, sharing highlights from the wonderful learning we have been busy with over the past six weeks. Students spoke about their Inquiry unit on Body Systems, explaining how different systems work together to keep our bodies healthy. They also reflected on their Wellbeing learning, discussing the importance of using kind and respectful words with one another. For Religious Education, students presented their retelling of the Gospel story of Blind Bartimaeus, sharing how his faith and persistence led him to call out to Jesus and be healed. Students also spoke about their soccer session at Parade College and the Mercy visit attended by the Year 4 girls. We were very proud of the confidence, preparation and enthusiasm students showed while presenting to our school community – well done!

Once each term students across the school have the opportunity to attend a mass alongside the parishioners community. This week students in 5/6 accomanied their buddies to class mass on Tuesday the 3rd of March. As it is currently Lent, it was a fantastic opportunity to be able to reflect and pray together as we prepare for Easter.

Nirav- "The Mass was a nice experience for both us and the buddies becuase they got a taste of the expectations of how we attend mass".

Natalie- "The Mass was very calming and it helped the Year 5/6s and buddies learn about what Jesus did and why he is our Saviour".

Chloe- "We were being role models for our buddies showing them to be quiet during the service".
