Secondary School Parent Survey and Information Night
We will be holding a Secondary School Information Night on Monday 4th May, 7.00pm. This evening will provide an overview of the process of choosing and enrolling in a secondary school, along with some key considerations in supporting students through the transition from Pilgrim School.
As part of our ongoing planning, we recently sent families a survey exploring your current thinking regarding secondary school pathways and enrolment intentions.
Thank you to the many families who have already completed this survey. If you have not yet had a chance, we would love to hear from you even if you have not yet considered your child's secondary schooling as all responses are helpful.

Uniform Policy
We have recently updated our Uniform Policy to include the following options for earrings at school.
Plain round gold or silver studs (studs may include a single small clear non-coloured stone - up to 5mm), or plain gold or silver sleepers with a single earring per ear lobe.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping your child meet uniform requirements.
Suitable styles:
Styles that don't meet the Uniform Policy:
Casual Day Friday 10th April
On the 10th April, the last day of term, Pilgrim will be having a Wacky casual day, with a gold coin donation to raise money for the RSPCA. Children can come to school wearing wigs, inside out shirts, and crazy colours. We can’t wait to see everyone's wacky outfits!

Toys at School
We ask that students please do not bring toys to school unless they are specifically needed for news talks or there has been prior consultation between the Inclusive Education Coordinator or the class teacher and the parent/caregiver. This helps minimize distractions and ensures a focused learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
New Families' Dinner
We began with an entrée of spring rolls by the Nature Play area, with time to chat and mingle. Thankyou Hannah Yu for making these a wonderful start to our evening!
Again this year, we ventured under the twinkling lights - this time in a new location by the Indonesian room - where we sat and shared a lovely meal together. There were many laughs around the table as we connected over stories about our families and what makes Pilgrim so special. Some parents were reluctant to move on, they were having such a wonderful time!
It was a chance to get to know new families, for staff to share a little about themselves, and for Andrew Edmondson to share the wisdom of Bluey and Bin Night. It is in these everyday moments that we can have so many meaningful conversations with our children.
An enormous thank you to our wonderful catering team, led by Heather Fallon, for catering, serving, setting up and packing up. We truly appreciate the time and effort that went into making this such a memorable welcome for our new families.

Coffee Connections
At Pilgrim, we value the gift of connection and the joy that comes from building strong and caring relationships within our school community. Throughout this term, in Weeks 3 and 8, we created a relaxed and welcoming space for families to gather after school, share a cuppa, and enjoy time together on our beautiful grounds. It has been such a delight to see conversations flowing, friendships forming, and our community growing in such a natural and meaningful way. These moments remind us how special it is when we take the time to pause, connect, and simply be together.
We’ve loved trialling this opportunity and are excited to continue Coffee Connections next
term! We warmly invite you to be part of this special time of community and connection
(dates yet to be confirmed) - we can’t wait to see you there.

Mentoring at Pilgrim (MAP) Program
(Building confidence, self esteem, relationships as a volunteer one-to-one)
Being a Pilgrim Mentor is a wonderful way to be involved in the wider community at Pilgrim School with a focus on developing student confidence and ability to achieve success and to be a friend.
Students and mentors meet one-to-one at the same time weekly for one lesson. Mentors are carefully matched to build upon each individual student’s strengths, interests and abilities.
Mentoring benefits students because it:
- is safe, personal and always one-to-one
- is about relationships
- builds confidence and self-esteem
- takes a creative approach to learning
- promotes community participation in school.
Question: Who are Pilgrim mentors?
Answer: Mentors are volunteers who bring their talents and interests to Pilgrim School, you may be a parent, caregiver, grandparent, secondary or tertiary level student or senior citizen.
If you have the time (1 hour per week) and are interested in helping students please contact us.
Pilgrim mentors will:
- hold a current Working with Children Check
- have completed the RRHAN-EC training
- undertake Protective Practices training
- act in accordance with the Duty of Care and Professional Boundaries
- receive an induction pack
- keep confidential ALL shared information
- report any first aid matters promptly
- report any concerns about student safety or welfare to staff immediately
- participate in a school orientation session.
I look forward to hearing from you.
